How to recover VAT?
No VAT applies to the types of works we carry out on this website and in the different countries of residence of our translators.
In the United Kingdom, for instance, it is included in Schedules 1 and 3 of the Value Added Tax Act 1994.
For further information, you can contact the translators with whom you think you will be working directly.
-
Is it possible to get an invoice?
The website does not provide any invoicing system because it gathers freelance translators having their own accounting and invoicing system.
However, you can obviously ask for an invoice directly from translators.
-
Is there a minimum project size?
Yes, the estimate system will adjust or check the size of your estimate and will inform you of any inconsistency. -
Why can’t I see my files when I click to estimate them?
By default, the file estimating tool only shows the types of files corresponding to the selected type of project.
You may have chosen a wrong type of project.
-
Why does estimating tool refuse to estimate some files?
The estimating tool checks that the types of files correspond to the selected type of project.
You may have chosen a wrong type of project.
-
Why does estimating tool show me an input area?
Some formats may be difficult to estimate with a simplified system.
You can enter an approximated size.
In any case, we will check it with more adapted tools.
-
Why doesn’t the estimated size correspond to the one I measure?
Some formats may be difficult to estimate with a simplified system.
You can correct the estimation by modifying the project size.
In any case, we will check it with more adapted tools.
-
Why is the estimate not working?
If you are browsing through Internet Explorer or a Windows Phone (it’s the same browser), it is likely that the estimate system does not work.
We are sorry about this, but we do sincerely prefer to advise you to change your browser (to Firefox, for instance) than to adapt to a decadent browser.
If you cannot change browsers, know that the system also works, less smoothly, by deactivating JavaScript completely.
Finalise an order
-
Why do I have to register?
For security reasons and in order to prevent others being able to see and modify data about your order, we need you to create an account which grants you access to a personal management space. -
Do I have to provide a valid e-mail address?
You can obviously provide a fake address if you are afraid, your account will be equally secured (except if it exists).
Nevertheless, this address will be the one the translators and the management system will use to communicate with you.
Besides, as you can see in the common regulation, the website will not send you any e-mail you did not previously accept in your preferences.
-
Which files shall I send you?
In order to work, we will need at least all the files you wish to translate.
You can also attach any file that can be useful to understand your project. In that case, do not forget to specify in the comments which files need translation and which ones serve as guides.
-
Why do I have to use WeTransfer?
For security reasons and in order to avoid saturating our bandwidth, we do not accept files without using a recognised and secured file hosting service.
We choose https://wetransfer.com, because it is a European website which we trust in terms of security. But if you prefer to use another recognised file hosting website like dl.free.fr, we will be fine with that.
In any case, if your link seems suspect, we will indicate it to you by e-mail and we will try to find together another file hosting platform.
-
Why is my link denied?
In order to validate a link, we need a valid URL, meaning a complete web address. Check that your link starts with http:// or https:// . -
What payment methods do you use?
First of all, the payments will be made directly to the translator. The website provides a payment management tool and offers some payment systems (PayPal, for instance), but the money does not pass through the website.
Hence, the payment methods depend on the systems used by the translators. You can ask them via e-mail before finalising your order, if you prefer.
In any case, every translator accepts direct transfer to their bank account as a payment method.
